The Tanzanian Commission for HIV/AIDS has ordered 11 x AV DRUM 21 units in their campaign for more information to flow freely to the people in the battle against HIV and AIDS. The TACAID behaviour change campaign will receive the delivery early in the new year.

The AV ANNOUNCER has recently been upgraded to supply more units to the Ministry of Information. The improved model includes visual upgrade with flat screen TV, camcorder and better quality sound with the 200 watt amplifier, separate mixer and all weather cabinet speakers. This provides greater versatility in the fight against the Poverty of Information.

AgriVisual have received an order for 24 AV DRUM 21 mobile units. The client wanted Toyota Landcruiser chassis with petrol engines which have taken some time to locate. Manufacturing is now underway. The Toyota FZJ76 model has a 4.5 litre petrol engine, 4 doors for easy access and seating for the driver plus 5 passengers.

As part of the Civic Education Programme in Ghana, AgriVisual have supplied AV DRUM 21 mobile units based on Nissan Patrol chassis. These units made an impressive demonstration of their capabilities in Accra.

The Ministry of Livestock, Tanzania now holds the record for continual use of the AV DRUM 21 mobile unit. Since 1994 their information team of Bernard Kaali and Lazaro Sabuni have worked for the Farmers Educational and Publicity Unit (FEPU), and delivered messages over 666,000 kilometres using their Unit. No breakdowns, no major repairs and no audio visual equipment failures in over 13 years, and there are many good years ahead.

Minister Vernon Mwaanga launches the AV ANNOUNCER
The Zambian News and Information Services (ZANIS) contracted AgriVisual to supply 37 AV Announcers to provide civil education to voters in Zambia prior to the election. The AV ANNOUNCERS were used by ZANIS staff around the clock in the run-up to the election. Their efforts meant that many more people, particularly in rural areas, were better informed on how to use their vote in the election, which has just finished.

The first stage of the journey to Nigeria
A fleet of AV DRUM 21 mobiles have left Eversley for Abuja, Nigeria, to work at the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. The new mobiles are fully digital and by retaining their analogue capability, they can play media in all formats, including DVD, VHS, CD and MP3. The mobiles are equipped with a digital camcorder kit that will be used to record news and views directly to DVD.
